Mama yay...

This morning, Faith was holding on to my cellphone, pointing and saying to me, "Mama Yay...".

"Oh...do you miss Mama? Do you want to call Mama?", I said. I thought that she was referring to my mom, whom she calls Mama (don't ask...that's what my mom wants to be called).

My daughter just blink her eyes and looked at me.

Evening time, Louis came back from work. While I was preparing Faith's dinner, he was playing with her on our bed cos she woke up late from her afternoon nap. From the kitchenette where I was prepping her food, I can heard the conversation going on between the father and daughter.

Faith was "talking" to her Papa and she said "Mama yay" to him. "Ah... Faith wants to sing that song, is it?", he asked.

Louis then turned around and asked me aloud, "Darling, how do you sing that Hippo song?".

What hippo song??!!

Then it strike me. Ohhh... that hippo song! Its the Happy Hippo Singing - The Lion Sleeps Tonight song. Its the video clip that we both now have on our cellphones, which we more or less play for her every night in a bid to get her to drink her bedtime milk.

So, my daughter was trying to tell me this morning about the Happy Hippo video clip on my cellphone. She wasn't trying to tell me about my mom.

DUH!!!

Anyways, here's the lyrics for it and the portion highlighted in red was what Faith was attempting to sing, although she sings it as "mama-yay".

The Lion Sleeps Tonight
(We-de-de-de, de-de-de-de-de de, we-um-um-a-way)
(We-de-de-de, de-de-de-de-de de, we-um-um-a-way)
(A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh)
(A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh)
In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle the quiet jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
Near the village the peaceful village
The lion sleeps tonight
Near the village the quiet village
The lion sleeps tonight
Hush my darling don't fear my darling
The lion sleeps tonight
Hush my darling don't fear my darling
The lion sleeps tonight

Right, when you get back, pls bluetooth this tune to me...it's quite cute...was this from the animated film Sinba the Lion or something? Another catchy tune is from Madagascar.
