So, our little girl falls asleep, makes retching noises, kicks her leg, arches her body or scream bloody murder at times when we try to give her the bottle (she might perform one or two or all of the listed, depending on her moods and occasion). Ohhh... and to make sure mommy's heart aches, our dear "little bundle of joy" also cries with big fat tears streaming down her face. All of which must be ochestrated to ensure that mommy will occassionally cave in and offers her the breast instead *sigh* Definitely, she's got a mind of her own and scared us quite a bit by vomitting up a lot of milk on Sat when we tried to squeeze the bottle teat into her mouth. Since it was the 3rd time that she threw up (the 1st 2 was after we fed her medication), we decided to bring her to the paedi to find out what's wrong. Turns out, there's really nothing wrong with Faith. But she's cleverer than her parents give her credit for. She decides to protest by throwing out when we force something down that she doesn't like :(
Anyways, like it or not, we'll planning to get her retrained to take to the bottle. Otherwise, its going to be difficult to bring her out (I can't breastfeed her while dinning with the family at the restaurants on weekends and its not like every place we go to has got a nursing room handy) or have someone look after her while I occassionally take time off to run errands.
Hopefully, it won't take too long, but there's no telling what other challenges our little girl will throw at us after we've gotten her back on the bottle. Maybe rejects the breast again this time??!! Touch wood! I seriously hope not cos both Louis and I are quite tired out and I think I've lost that motherhood glow since delivery ;)

hi eve, maybe wat u can do for a start is ask louis to feed faith in ur absent. my pd once told me that so babies will reject bottles when they knew that mummies are around.
though my girl did not threw out, she didnt want to suck from bottle. it took me 1/2 hr to feed her 20ml, wheresle bf, it only takes her 5 to 10 mines.

As for bfg in restaurants, try getting a table in a corner and just turn your chair to face the wall when u want to feed her. Using a poncho-like shawl also helps in flashing too much boobs.
As for training her to follow a sleeping and feeding routine, try reading this book http://www.contentedbaby.com/
Not to be taken as gospel truth but it provides a framework on how to put the bb on routine. Just need to tweak the timing a bit to suit you. That's how i train Emma.

Hi Eve, maybe you want to invest in the bf's bib. It is really handy and useful esp when you are out and need to feed Faith.
With the bib, no one will stare at you rudely even if you bf her in restuarant or bench in shopping centre.
I used to do that so really really helpful with me shopping or eating with ease and when the bb needs milk, it's fresh for her. Just my suggestion. Take care.
Thanks all! Faith just doesn't like the bottle too much, not so much who's giving her the bottle. However, situation is improving a little, although she would routinely throw tantrums e.g. 1 feeding a day.
Hmmm... what's a bf bib? Is it like the sarong? I've gotta check it out on the website. I've invested in some nursing tops. That helps but not usefully as my boobs might be exposed too whenever Faith decides that she wants a bit of fun with her mom and do the latch-break off sequence for a while.
hi eve, it works just like the bib meant for babies but the bigger version. the baby will by "hiden" so no matter how playful Faith dec to be, it will be done "behind the bib"
